  • Gabriel Colon (‘23), Chair of Academic Affairs, is communicating with the Stetson administration and the Academic Affairs Committee of the Faculty Senate on extending the Pass/Fail Policy for this semester. 
  • Chair of Diversity and Inclusion, Stephanie D’Addio (‘22), is collaborating with Tahira L. Perry (‘21), chair of the Multicultural Student Council (MSC), on legislation regarding diversity and inclusion. There will be more information on this legislation at a later time. 

SGA Officer Updates

  • On Sept. 29, Lua Hancock, Ph.D., Vice President of Campus Life and Student Success (CLaSS) sent out an email notification regarding the information on the recent contesting of the elected presidential ticket of Joshua Finkelstein (‘22) as SGA president and Daniel Hendrick (‘23) as vice president. While contesting the elected presidential ticket, following the 2019-2020 SGA Constitution and the 2019-2020 SGA Bylaws, the President Pro Tempore at the time, Clyde E. Tucker (‘21) served as SGA Acting Vice President. 
  • Shortly after the meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 14, SGA Vice President Hendrick and SGA President Finkelstein were officially sworn into their respective roles. 
    • SGA Vice President Hendrick was sworn in by SGA Acting Vice President Tucker at 8:42 p.m.
    • SGA President Finkelstein was sworn in by Former SGA President George Alderman (‘21) at 8:43 p.m.
      • At this minute, Former SGA President Alderman has officially completed his term. 
  • Julia Moore (‘22) was appointed as the Representative for the Diversity Student Advisory Committee by the current Chair of Diversity and Inclusion, Stephanie M. D’Addio (‘22)

 

The SGA Executive Board 

In accordance with the 2019-2020 SGA Constitution and the 2019- 2020 SGA Bylaws, the remainder of the SGA’s new Executive Board was announced and decided on Wednesday, Oct. 21. 

The Executive Board is comprised of the following members:

  • SGA President: Joshua Finkelestein 
  • SGA Vice President: Daniel Hendrick 
  • SGA President Pro Tempore: Ariana Motta (‘23)
    • This position was voted on and appointed by the majority vote on Oct. 7. 
  • Director of Marketing and Student Outreach: Jennifer Weller (‘21)
    • This position was voted on and appointed by the majority vote on Oct. 21. 
  • Director of Finances: John Michael Liontas (‘21)
    • This position was voted on and appointed by the majority vote on Oct. 21.
  • Director of Internal Operations: Kennedy Ryder (‘21) 
    • This position was voted on and appointed by the majority vote on Oct. 21.
  • Chair of Campus Life: Lischna Castor (‘22)
  • Chair of Diversity and Inclusion: Stephanie D’Addido
  • Chair of Academic Affairs: Gabriel Colon 

 

Webinars From President Christopher Roellke, Ph.D.

President Roellke’s next weekly Thursday webinar is scheduled to occur from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Oct. 29.

President Roellke’s past weekly webinars were held on July 16, July 23, July 30, Aug. 6, Aug. 20, and Aug. 27, Sept. 3, Sept. 10, Sept. 24, Oct.1, Oct. 8, Oct.15, and Oct. 22.

Update: As of Oct. 26, overall, from the total number of residential students who are actively positive, there is a 0.5 % positivity rate for residential students.
