Additions to Phase One
On May 9, as part of reopening the government and businesses, Gov. Ron DeSantis has issued additions to Phase One.
Effective Monday, May 11, at 12:01 a.m., Gov. DeSantis has provided authorization for:
- Palm Beach County to follow Phase One guidelines and restrictions.
- Businesses in Broward County and Miami-Dade County are not reopening.
- Barber shops, hair salons, nail salons, and cosmetology salons to reopen with appropriate safety protocols and mandatory restrictions ensured (These businesses are still closed for Broward County and Miami-Dade County).
Mandatory Restrictions include:
- Services are to be appointment-only
- Appointments may only be made for individuals.
- Allow at least 15 minutes between appointments for proper disinfecting practices.
- Masks must be worn by all employees.
- All surfaces, tools, and linens must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected prior to reopening every day.
- Consider providing new masks for clients to use during their appointment.
- All unnecessary, frequently touched items like magazines, newspapers, service menus, and any other unnecessary paper products and decor from customer service areas are to be removed.
As of May 9, following social distancing guidelines, Volusia County Emergency Management has permitted vehicle access for beach parking for selected sectors of Volusia County’s beaches.
- Zones have been established for parking vehicles on the beach and driving or parking outside of the zones will be restricted.
- To prevent overcrowding, posts have been placed at least 25 feet apart on the beach.
- Vehicles must park in front of a post and only one vehicle may be parked in front of each post.
