Then (1993-2015)

April 13th, 1993 The Reporter vol. 105

Fire Bomb: four Stetson students were arrested by the DeLand Police department for igniting a container of gasoline near the intersection of Woodland Blvd and Michigan Ave. No injuries or property damage was reported.

March 16th, 2006 The Reporter vo. 118

Criminal Mischief: Unknown suspects shoot paintballs at a campus building. DPD was called for a report.

Disrespecting a University Official: Student drives recklessly after receiving a citation for improper parking.

October 29th, 2015 The Reporter vol. 123

Case #20150725

Criminal Mischief was reported from the CUB. The report states that a student frustrated with the ATM outside of the commons repeatedly kicked the machine resulting in damage. The local 5th/3rd Bank was notified of the incident and sent technicians to repair it. The student is subject to discipline from the Office of Community Standards.

Now (2017)

Case # 2017046 Threat

The off-campus bomb threat by a student was seen on Snapchat by other Stetson students. Public Safety and the DPD were notified.

Case # 20170595 Towed Moped

An aged moped with tags that expired in 2015 was ticketed last month by Public Safety. After sometime, they realized the moped still had the citation and had it privately towed.

DeLand PD Report

Car was flagged down and stopped by the Public Safety office after reports of what appeared to be a car jacking with a dead body in the bed of a pickup truck. After pulling over, it appeared to be a friend taking care of his diabetic friend. There was also a man in the bed covering himself with a tarp to stay dry from the rain which caused the reports of a dead body.

Case #20170603 Theft of Bicycles

Two nonstudents trespassed on campus to Smith Hall last weekend. They were carrying old bikes and then left with different, nicer bicycles. The two were stopped by Public Saftey.
